This island is named “Hodo” because it resembles the shape of a fox. Located about an hour and ten minutes away from Daecheon Harbor, Hodo is a small island with 60 households. The village is located on the northeast seashore. The dock is surrounded by strange rocks and bizarre stones, so the harmony with the dock, rocks, stones presents grand sight.

The length of the sandy beach is about 3.5 kilometers and the width is about 100 meters. On the south of the beach, strange rocks and bizarre stones are well developed and preserved, creating a beautiful but mysterious view. Since the water temperature is also optimal, many visitors enjoy swimming here.

Passing through a village and over a gentle hill, the silver seashore ahead will stretch out ahead of you. Though the length of the sandy beach is relatively short (about1.5 kilometers), its width is almost 100 meters. The sand is soft and the slope is gentle. It is not well known, but it has the appropriate beach qualifications. In particular, because the beach and the seashore form a soft curve, it provides the beauty and coziness of nature.

Due to the tranquil atmosphere, proper water temperature, clean water, and gentle slope, many families visit the beach to enjoy their summer vacation. The village provides bed and breakfasts, with bungalows available during the summer vacation season. Because the sandy beach is wide, it is sufficient for tent camping. The island is now known well to the public, and the Island residents are generous and warmhearted. In addition, most of the female residents are Haenyeo (female diver), so abalone, conch, sea urchin and other marine food items are easily obtained.
